Thousands of Muslim Americans Engaged During Largest Single Day Voter Registration Push in the U.S.
More than 100 mosques and community organizations participated in
National Muslim Voter Registration Day on Sept. 18 to drive voter turnout in states with pivotal local, state and federal races

With less than seven weeks left until crucial midterm elections, over 100 mosques and community organizations across the country joined a coordinated effort this past Friday to register Muslim voters as part of National Muslim Voter Registration Day, a non-partisan initiative led by MPower Change.
Registration efforts spanned 18 states where volunteers reached thousands of Muslim American voters in regions with competitive local races and high-stakes federal elections. Organizers helped community members register to vote, check and update their registration, and learn about their voting options within their districts.

This year’s midterm elections come at a historic moment for Muslim Americans as they are elected to office and launching new campaigns in record-breaking numbers.
“This year is a very important year for us to send a message to our community that they are still worthy, they are Americans that deserve to participate in democracy while very powerful people in this country are telling us we don't belong here,” MPower Change co-founder and executive director Linda Sarsour told KPBS in San Diego.
