On my honeymoon flight I was almost left behind.

share your #FlyingWhileMuslim story

On every international flight I have taken I have been "randomly" selected for excessive security check-up. It was to a level that I changed my seat 20 minutes before flight and when I pulled up to boarding they even had the previous seat# marked for extra check-up.

Have you ever received a response or resolution from either an airline, airport or government official regarding the discrimination you experienced? If so, what was the response or the result?

No.

Has the discrimination you've faced made it harder for you to travel? If so, in what ways and at what cost?

Yes, on my honeymoon flight I was almost left behind because the scanner was not working and if it wasn't for 10 more passengers with the same faith the flight would have took off.

What was your reaction to the No-Fly List leak story? how did it make you feel?

I knew that the list was still active and that the airlines and the government were still scrutinizing people with Islamic names but didn't have the resources or time to investigate and get the responsible people before a judge.
