share your #FlyingWhileMuslim story

When coming back home to NY from a vacation to Mexico, my cousin, a Pakistani 30 year old man with a beard, was stopped at security and taken to a back room to be questioned “randomly”. They said they were looking for a man with the same name as him so that took him in the back for a whole hour before letting him go.

Have you ever received a response or resolution from either an airline, airport or government official regarding the discrimination you experienced? If so, what was the response or the result?

No.

Has the discrimination you've faced made it harder for you to travel? If so, in what ways and at what cost?

It has definitely made going through security more tedious than it should be.

What was your reaction to the No-Fly List leak story? how did it make you feel?

It made me feel like I do not want to raise my kids in this country, that I love with all my heart because I feel like the love is not reciprocated.
