Home Security Partners with Police

The hand of police security and surveillance seems to have no bounds. Through partnerships with Amazon, a business meant to sell goods to the people, and Ring, a home security system meant to protect homeowners from intruders, the commodification of goods have turned into the weaponization of them.

With this expansion and growth of access to information, the growth of policing, warrantless surveillance and mass incarceration follows.

The End Ring Partnership Campaign serves to end corporate-police partnerships and stop the expansion and exploitation of surveillance.

These police + corporation partnerships have no oversight or accountability as they are done secretly without the knowledge of those using the Ring/Amazon service.

Threats to our community comes in forms of racial profiling against Black and brown people via the fostering Amazon’s culture of racist fear mongering. The software, Rekognition, which is coded to perpetuate racism by tracking Black and brown, transgender and women via facial recognition software.

During the BLM protests last summer, the police were given unprecedented access to invasive information to target protesters and organizers fighting for basic civil rights. While the people were calling for defunding the police, Amazon empowered it with all the access to information it could possibly provide to further harm our communities.

Together, we must demand an end to ring partnerships with the police.

Join the fight and show these tech companies that we will not stay silent while they continue their silent partnerships with the police.
