NEW YORK, NY – MPower Change, the nationally recognized digital advocacy group for U.S. Muslim communities, has launched the Banking on Solidarity campaign. ⁣

Citibank played an active role in instigating a violent, decades-long US occupation of Haiti, leading to unimaginable Haitian suffering and enormous profits for the Bank. And now Citibank, the largest US bank in apartheid Israel, is complicit in the ongoing oppression of Palestinians.⁣

In collaboration with the Haitian Bridge Alliance, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, Action Center on Race & the Economy (ACRE), Ekō (formerly SumOfUs), LittleSis, the UndocuBlack Network, Freedom to Thrive, and 18 Million Rising, MPower Change demands that Citibank – the primary institution that stole from Haiti – provide financial reparations to Haitians and end their support of land theft and occupation of Palestine. ⁣⁣

Citibank was once forced by public outcry to leave another apartheid state, South Africa — there’s no reason that can’t happen again.

Please visit bankingonsolidarity.org for more information about the campaign and to sign the petition.
